4.5 What is the role of reporting?

The reporting is a compulsory process, as it is part of the standard grant contract for external actions, but it is also a very useful management tool as it provides useful, real-time information about the status of the project’s implementation.

It is extremely helpful to know in due time if the project is on track from both operational or financial point of view or if some delays or problems occurred during implementation.

Reporting could alert necessary changes in the project. Timely action for solving project implementation problems can only take place if the right information is reaching the management at the right time and this is one of the role of the reporting system.

Reporting is essential part of financial management of the project. No further payments could be made without proper information on project progress and necessity and eligibility of expenditure.
